Students Save the World

Greta Thunburg has taken a year off school to save the world. She has sailed across the Atlantic in an experimental racing boat designed to use no fossil fuels. She comes to America, the source of the climate crisis, at the beginning of the Global Climate Strike, a movement she started. First she stopped going to school on Fridays to protest climate change. Then her whole school went on strike every Friday, Then her entire country, then all of Europe.

If high school students are going on strike on September 20th, they should plan on going on strike every Friday this school year. And if at this same time next year, they feel the crisis is unresolved, they should seriously consider not attending school in protest until November 3rd 2020, as their best recourse to saving the world.

The students of today have the courage and intelligence to organize on mass for global liberation. They have the sense to reject the guidelines of their elders and pursue a path beyond the lesson of obedience that schools forcefully clench. They have the ability to seek knowledge at the libraries and college campuses they will occupy every Friday for the coming year. They have the strength to rally the streets to the pitch of indefinite general strike.

This of course will turn everything upside down, and is the only possible way to save the world.
